World Wood Day 2017 - Long Beach, CA ,USA

I'm pleased, and honored, to be invited to participate in World Wood Day this year. I will be showing some of my work, demonstrating my carving techniques, and running an interactive workshop. I'm excited to be exhibiting along side Japanese automata maker, Kazuaki Harada and his wife Meg.
Back in 2015, after spending a month in my studio, my Danish apprentice Laura, traveled to stay with Kazu and Meg, and apprentice with them. They also own a gallery & cafe called Automaton, but I'm getting off subject. It will be exciting to finally meet them both and "talk shop".

From the WWD's website........
World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually on March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey and Nepal respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.

In additions to participating in the Folk Art Workshop, Kazu and I will be giving a presentation on Wednesday at noon, and Sunday at 10:00 am. We will each talk mostly about our work, but also have a Q&A session.

The tickets for World Wood Day are only $10 for a day, and $20. for the whole week.
