I've been using Starbond super glues for many years now. My go-to glues are their Thin and Black Medium Thick. I use the Thin to strengthen wooden parts - it soaks in - and after hitting it with Accelerator, it gives me a tougher surface, especially on basswood. The Black I use to glue dissimilar parts - brass or metal to wood. It's a 'rubber-toughened polymer' that makes sense when gluing things that move. And I love that it's black - you can really see where it's going.
But last year I discovered their newest!!! Flexible Medium-thick. Wow! Incredible!
I ordered this to try it out gluing a friend's ceramic plate back together. I wanted a clear glue in case the glue joint showed up, (so I knew I didn't want to use the Black). It did a fantastic job. And now it is the king of the shop when it comes to gluing dissimilar materials together. It's way more flexible than the Black (which I will continue to use). And I've become more confident when it comes to thinking about the glue's longevity. In the past when gluing things together, I've always used glue and a nail to hold things on - thinking long term. Now I just use the Flexible. Go try it out.
Another exciting thing is that I've become a Starbond Collaborator. Which means I get a small commission on sales that use my code. What it means for you is that you can get 10% off your first purchase if you use the code ---> Tom10 <---
While you're there make sure to order their Accelerator (Pump or Aerosol). And absolutely order their Superglue Remover - because when you glue your fingers together it's too late - I've been there.
They just recently restocked the Flexible so I was waiting for it to be in stock before posting this.
Thanks, and let me know what you think.
